Cheryl Hawkins Landscaping
Welcome! We are a small landscaping company located in the San Francisco Bay Area.

We offer creative garden design, thoughtful installations, and caring maintenance. We also offer design consultations and teach gardening workshops. We consider ourselves not only experienced gardeners, with a deep understanding of plants and trees, but visual artist.

We use organic methods (no chemicals and synthetic fertilizers), prune and cut back by hand (no loud machinery) and are blower free.

Please browse around and check out our portfolio of some of our gardens that we have designed and maintained, our services and rates, and more information on us.

What to do in your garden, local events and recommendations:

Plant: bare-root perennials, drought-tolerant shrubs--ceanothus, cotoneaster, Fremontodendron, manzanita and rosemary. Time to plant Heirloom tomatoes (remember to plant them deep) and other seedlings like peas and beans. Maintenance: Weed, weed, and weed--get them before they go to seed. Lay down compost and more mulch, if you haven't done so this winter. Also, fertilize your plants with a natural, gentle fertilizer--sprinkle around the plant base and let the rain to the rest. Tend to flowering shrubs. Remove spent blooms on azaleas, camellias and rhododendrons, give them a feed. If rain has stopped or is infrequent, turn on irrigation and check the duration and frequency. Control mosquitoes by eliminating breeding sites--draining water from pipes, gutters, buckets, plant containers, etc. Stock ponds with mosquitofish--contact your county for the mosquito abatement division.
